Overstock Auctions

Overstock Auctions is hosted by Overstock.com.
Zoovy customers will not be charged insertion fees through December 31, 2005. There is a 5% closing fee for all sold items and all reserve and upgrade fees apply.

Overstock Auctions can be used as both a channel, and syndication. If the listing is launched as a channel it will NOT be syndicated.

Overstock.com is one of the Internets leading e-commerce sites, and is in the top 25 of the Internets most visited sites. Coupled with their amazingly successful "it's all about the O" advertising campaign Overstock is receiving unprecendeted levels of buyer interest. They need your products!

Overstock has publically stated they believe eBay's fees are too high, and that they believe that eBay's fees will continue to be high until another player can present a credible alternative and bring back competition. Depending on the closing price Overstock's fees are anywhere from 30 to 60% less than eBay's fees for the same item. This alone is enough to warrant further investigation by any seller.

When configuring Overstock you will need to select a syndication operation mode:

Disabled: means syndication will not occur, however it is still possible to launch individual items on Overstock using channels.

Almost Fixed Price: this will set the starting bid for your listings to your base price minus $0.01.

Variable Starting Bid: With this setting you can either specify a fixed amount e.g. $0.01 OR input a formula using any of the possible values:

BASE	The base price of the item (zoovy:base_price)
COST	The cost of the item (zoovy:base_cost)
MSRP	The MSRP of the item (zoovy:prod_msrp)
SHIP	The fixed shipping price of the item (zoovy:ship_cost1)

Here are examples of common formulas:

Formula	Explanation
BASE*0.90	10% off base price
COST*1.10	10% above cost
(COST+SHIP)*1.05	5% above the sum of the cost and the shipping

If you enter specifics in the product editor for overstock, then those setting will be used instead of the defaults. This allows you to exclude certain products from being managed.

When a sale occurs, an incomplete item is generated. The incomplete item is then paid for through your Zoovy store. Overstock does not have it's own checkout and relies exclusively on 3rd parties such as Zoovy to provide this functionality. A shipping calculator and link to the checkout application will be included in the listing. Any checkout links to http://ebayapi.zoovy.net/checkout.cgi will be replaced with the appropriate checkout link.
